I have been wanting to blog for sometime, but one question that continuously popped into my head was, “Do I have anything important to say?” I am still not sure that I do, but I just attended the Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Language or CSCTFL and was SO inspired that I am giving it a go. So my first post is going to be an introduction to the person behind the blog.
My name is Amanda Mora and I am in my 7th year of teaching. I am a funky, spontaneous type teacher who loves to have fun in the classroom. I have been teaching at a large, urban school in Southeast Wisconsin for the past 3 years. I currently teach Spanish levels two and four, but would love to expand into other levels as well as try all the new things I have learned about TPRS and Comprehensible Input.
When I am not at school, I am at home with my husband and three children. My kids are at such great ages and their personalities are so different. It is definitely a blessing to experience the differences between my children. Life is chaotic, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I also love to travel. Since I have family in Mexico, I have been there numerous times to visit. I have also lived in Madrid, Spain for a year-long study abroad program. I decided to stay a little bit longer and I lived in Valencia, Spain for another few months. I cannot wait to go back and bring the family.
The goal of my blog is to write about my successes and failures as a foreign language teacher. I also hope to connect with other teachers and work together to become better versions of ourselves. I cannot wait to work with you all!
